Card Values

Number cards (2–9) carry their face value. Tens and all face cards — Jack, Queen, and King — are worth zero. Aces count as one. To calculate a hand's score, sum the three card values and take only the final digit of the total. A hand of 7 + 6 + 5 = 18 scores 8, for example.

The Objective

The player aims to achieve a final hand score higher than the banker's. Nine is the highest possible score — often called a "natural nine" — and represents the ideal hand in Sakong. If a player and the banker tie on score, the banker wins (the house edge in Sakong is structured around this banker advantage on ties).
